Background

Our publications:

Panzacchi et al. 2015 shows the first application of the randomized shortest paths framework in combination with step selection functions.

Van Moorter et al. 2021 presents a framework to scale up step selection functions to assess effective connectivity using the randomized shortest paths framework. This paper presents an extensive discussion of the RSP in an ecological context.

Van Moorter et al. 2023 is the core publication of the ConScape library, and should be cited for the library.

Van Moorter et al. 2023 is the main publication describing the concept of functional habitat, i.e. habitat that is simultaneously suitable and well-connected to other suitable habitat. It is the computation of this quantity that motivated the development of the ConScape library.

Dorber et al. 2023 presents a first application of functional habitat to the assessment of the impact of hydropower on wild reindeer in Norway.
